Looking For A Springer Spaniel Nosework Expert?

What makes my approach to nosework unique?

Hi, I'm Gemma Forde, canine behaviourist and explosive detection dog handler.

With over 15 years of experience in the world of dog training and behaviour, I'm passionate about helping Springer Spaniels and their humans thrive together through the art of nosework.

My journey has included becoming a certified canine behaviourist and a level 5 applied canine ethologist, achieving success as an explosives detection dog handler, and working with high profile clients, including touring with a world-renowned artist. I was the first female and first non-military handler for Bloomberg with my own bred dog, Jackpot.

I've combined this hands-on experience with a deep understanding of canine psychology and the science of scent to create a unique training approach that transforms lives. My dog Juno and I scored 100% in our NCTAS-P explosives police accreditation, making us one of the highest-scoring teams in the UK.

I believe that creating a truly proficient scent detection dog goes beyond simply teaching them to search and find odour. It's about fostering a calm,  confident, and connected partner who thinks about the search, calmly and beautifully indicates on target odour, maintains focus, and can live harmoniously in the family home. That's why my approach to nosework prioritises impulse control, building a strong foundation for success in nosework and beyond.
