Stone-Swallowing Springer: How Nosework Training Saved One Dog's Life
Our dog developed a uniqe way of getting attention: picking up and swallowing stones. Resulting in an operation. We tried a lot of different training approaches, nothing really worked... until we found Gemma.

Not only was the training engaging and the most fun for Mannie, but it was effective and progressive. Almost immediately we saw a change. He is now able to patiently and calmly 'indicate' on stones and able to freely 'swap' items.
Mannie LOVES the games. We still use the games daily, and cannot recommend Gemma highly enough. A Godsend for Kovu: A Story of Lasting Change
Well I don’t know where to start with how incredible Gemma was to my fur baby Kovu, and my family.
Kovu is a strong independent, English springer spaniel who I thought was extremely clever but had a big stubborn side when it came to training. For the first 5 years as a family we tried all the “generic” training tools. Nothing really stuck for him he could be great for months then decide he had enough of those rules and would go back to square one, until we met Gemma.
Gemma greeted herself with myself and Kovu in a calm professional manner with mountains of evidence based research she had invested in teaching dogs how to behave, listen and follow commands FOREVER, a God send to us. Gemma introduced training by scent, something we had never tried, I was sceptical at first but I thought there is no harm in trusting the process and my goodness im so pleased we did. Kovu learnt a range of commands and behaviours over a short period of time, and we have never looked back.
Kovu is now 3 years on and he is honestly INCREDIBLE, we used to fear taking him places (especially with water involved) but now we can enjoy family trips with no worries, he used to be hyper and none stop in the house now he knows how to relax and enjoy the rest, there are many other factors Gemma helped with and I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough.
